You know the stereotype that says women can't parallel park?

BOO-YAH!

I am inordinately proud of this... of course it did take 5 minutes and a 27-point turn (Austin Powers style) to get it in there and I'm a little afraid about getting it back out again.

  1. Holy cow. Well done. I, too, frequently employ the 27-point turn, and this is impressive.

  2. Impressive!

I actually love to parallel park. I have this spacial gene where I get spaces. My brother calls it the Mechanics Gene (even though I couldn't find an alternator to save my life). He says our dad has it and I have it too. WTF? Still, I think it was a compliment, so I'll take it.

    You should too. That's amazing!

  3. Hannah - I'm sure it's easier to execute this kind of manuever in a quiet parking garage than on a busy DC street.

Leanne - I am directionally challenged for sure, but perhaps not as lacking in spatial awareness as I thought. It must be my physical coordination that usually lets me down. However, when I parked the car this morning, it was like I was channeling "the force." Parking perfection, that is.

  4. You rock! I wouldn't have even attempted that!

  5. Nicki - I was in the zone... plus it was one of the only spots in the garage left where I didn't have to leave the keys with the valet, which I hate doing. So I bravely faced the challenge (and nailed it).

  7. Meeks - I know, right? You should see the less-than-stellar attempts some people make to get in there before they give up and leave the car all askew.
